eGFR Calculator
Estimate kidney function using CKD-EPI 2021 equation. Includes CKD staging and Cockcroft-Gault creatinine clearance for drug dosing.
Patient Data
mg/dL
Serum creatinine level from blood test. Normal: 0.7-1.3 mg/dL (male), 0.6-1.1 mg/dL (female). Higher values indicate reduced kidney function.
years
Patient's age in years. eGFR naturally declines with age. The CKD-EPI formula accounts for age-related changes in kidney function.
kg
Actual body weight in kilograms. Used for Cockcroft-Gault CrCl calculation. For obese patients, some clinicians use adjusted or ideal body weight.
Note: Sex affects the formula because females typically have less muscle mass and therefore lower baseline creatinine.

The Formulas
CKD-EPI 2021 (eGFR)
142 × min(Cr/κ, 1)^α × max(Cr/κ, 1)^-1.200 × 0.9938^age × 1.012 (if female)
κ = 0.7 (F), 0.9 (M) | α = -0.241 (F), -0.302 (M)
Cockcroft-Gault (CrCl)
CrCl = [(140 - age) × weight] / (72 × Cr) × 0.85 (if female)
= [(140 - 45) × 70] / (72 × 1) = mL/min
