How It Works

Volume (ft³) = Area (sq ft) × Depth (ft)
Cubic Yards = Volume (ft³) / 27
Bags (2cf) = Volume (ft³) / 2
Weight = Cubic Yards × Density
Tips
- Standard mulch depth is 3 inches for weed suppression.
- Compost is typically applied 1-2 inches thick.
- Bulk delivery (by cubic yard) is usually cheaper than bags for projects over 2 cubic yards.
